Materials & Craftsmanship
The Buckland Belt is crafted using leather from the prestigious JFJ Baker tannery in Colyton, Devon—a tannery with a deep-rooted history in producing some of the finest oak bark tanned British leather. Their traditional tanning process uses natural oak bark tannins, creating a strong, breathable, and eco-friendly full-grain leather known for its remarkable strength, durability, and natural beauty. This artisanal oak bark tanning method preserves the hide’s natural fibers, ensuring the leather develops a rich patina and becomes more supple with time, making it ideal for handmade belts that last generations. Read more on the About page.
Each belt is hand saddle-stitched with durable waxed linen thread and carefully burnished for smooth, clean edges—hallmarks of expert British leather craftsmanship.

Care Instructions for Your Leather Belt
Leather is a natural material that needs proper care to maintain its beauty and durability. Like our skin, leather can dry out or weaken when exposed to excessive sunlight, water, or extreme temperatures. To keep your oak bark tanned leather belt supple and looking its best, use a natural leather balm regularly. Avoid using dubbin or neatsfoot oil, which can dry out leather fibers and weaken stitching.
