Care Instructions for Your Leather Belt
Leather is a natural material that needs proper care to maintain its beauty and durability. Like our skin, leather can dry out or weaken when exposed to excessive sunlight, water, or extreme temperatures. To keep your oak bark tanned leather belt supple and looking its best, use a natural leather balm regularly. Avoid using dubbin or neatsfoot oil, which can dry out leather fibers and weaken stitching.

Crafted from the Finest British Oak Bark Tanned Leather
The leather used for the Belstone Belt comes from JFJ Baker, a historic tannery based in Colyton, Devon. With over a century of experience, JFJ Baker is one of the last remaining traditional oak bark tanneries in the UK, preserving centuries-old techniques that produce some of the finest full-grain bridle leather available.
Oak bark tanning is a natural, eco-friendly process that uses tannins from oak tree bark to gently cure the leather over several months. This slow, time-honored method results in leather that is incredibly strong, durable, and develops a rich, unique patina with age. Full-grain bridle leather from JFJ Baker is prized for its tight fibre structure, which gives the belt lasting resilience and a luxurious finish.
